Eagle Nation,
Today our School Resource Officer spoke with fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students and staff about a recent social media trend involving an AI generated videos involving the "Cat in the Hat" that are circulating online.
Our School Resource Officer discussed the importance of making safe and responsible choices when using social media and reminded students that the best way to protect themselves is to NOT PARTICIPATE IN, SHARE, REPOST, COMMENT ON, or ENGAGE WITH THESE VIDEOS IN ANY WAY! He also discussed deleting any interactions the students may have made with these posts.
We encourage parents and families to have a conversation with your children about what they see online and remind them:
Don't participate in the trend.
Don't create or record videos related to it.
Don't share or repost the videos.
Don't comment, like, or engage with the content.
If you see something concerning, TELL A TRUSTED ADULT.
Social media trends can spread quickly and something that may seem harmless at first can have unintended consequences. WHEN IN DOUBT, DON'T ENGAGE.
Thank you for partnering with us to help keep our students safe, informed, and responsible both at school and online.
EAGLE PRIDE, COUNTY WIDE!!!

Of course, the highlight of the day was definitely seeing our very own principal, Mr. Helton, take a pie to the face! It was a moment we won’t soon forget. Thank you to everyone who made this visit so memorable!
